IRVINE, Calif. – No. 5 UC Irvine fell to No. 3 UCLA 13-9 at the Anteater Aquatic Center Friday afternoon.

UCI goes to 4-2 overall, while the Bruins improve to 2-0.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
>UCI was led Kayleigh Schultz, Kili Skibby and Danielle Ayala who each had a pair of goals. Skibby also added two assists
>The Anteaters also recorded goals by Calysa Toledo, Jessica Lynch and Ariana Bockstahler
>Goalkepper Morgan Jones had 10 saves
>UCLA was paced by Abbi Hill's five goals. Jahmea Bent had 13 saves in goal.

FIRST PERIOD
>UCI and UCLA traded goals with UCI's Danielle Ayala (6:33) returning the favor of her sister Val (7:41) who opened the game with a goal
>Kili Skibby (5:37), Jessica Lynch (4:37) and Kayleigh Schultz (3:54) kept the game deadlocked at 4-4 before UCLA's Lexi Liebowitz ended the quarter with a goal at 3:34 to give the Bruins 5-4 lead

SECOND PERIOD
>A UCLA goal was followed by Skibby's second of the game at 7:09 (6-5)
>The Bruins would peel off two more goals to end the half with an 8-5 advantage

THIRD PERIOD
>Another Bruin goal open the margin to 9-5 before Danielle Ayala stopped the momentum with a goal at 6:40 (9-6)
>Arianna Bockstahler put one in the cage in between two more UCLA scores to end the quarter with UCLA leading 11-7

FOURTH QUARTER
>After the Bruins scored twice, UCI rallied on late goals by Calysa Toledo (1:34) and Schultz (0.07) for the final score, 13-9
