Dan Klatt was inducted into the 2020 Clovis Unified School District Hall of Fame last weekend.
Klatt, who attended Clovis West High School, was a two-time All-American in both swimming and water polo. He was also named the CIF MVP in water polo and helped his team win CIF Central Section Championships in swimming (1993, 1994, 1995, 1996) and water polo (1993, 1994, 1995).
A UC Irvine graduate, Klatt was also a two time All-American in water polo, a two time All-MPSF selection and two-year captain. He also swam at UCI and was a Big West Conference Champion in the 50-freestyle and 100-freesyle.
After graduation, Klatt was a member of the U.S. Men's National Team and earned a spot on the roster at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens where the team finished in seventh-place.
Klatt began coaching at UCI in 2004 and is a seven-time Big West Coach of the Year. He is also an assistant coach with the U.S. Women's National Team and has helped Team USA win back-to-back-to-back Gold medals at the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Olympic Games.
