Prentice Matches Career-High Goals in 12-8 Win Over SDSU

IRVINE, Calif. –Tara Prentice matched a career-high five goals to help No. 5 UC Irvine defeat No. 16 San Diego State, 12-8, Saturday afternoon at the Anteater Aquatic Complex.
The Anteaters improve to 13-5 on the season, while the Aztecs fall to 6-9.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
> Prentice was the leading scorer for the Anteaters, recording a game-high five goals while adding a pair of assists and a steal
> Piper Smith also played a large part in the offense, scoring three goals on the afternoon
> Toni Shackelford, Jessica Lynch, Megan Falcon, and Calysa Toledo also scored for the 'Eaters
> Sarah Nichols added five steals, tying Morgan Jones for the team lead

> The Aztecs continued to rely on Canale's shooting, as she added her third goal of the game, nudging SDSU to within two, 5-3, at 5:27
