The road continues for UC Irvine as the Anteaters prepare to play in the MGM Resorts Main Even Middleweight Bracket Sunday, Nov. 24 and Tuesday, Nov. 26. UCI faces Detroit Mercy in its first game Sunday, Nov. 24 at 12 p.m. before playing Louisiana Lafayette Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 1 p.m.
 
OPENING TIPS
> The Anteaters moved to 3-3 after dropping a one-point decision, 59-58, to TCU on the road (Nov. 21)
 
> Over the past three seasons, UCI is 12-4 at neutral sites. UCI's last neutral site win was in the first round of the NCAA Tournament over fourth-seed Kansas State, 70-64
 
> To open the 2019-20 season, UCI is playing 7 of its first 8 games away from home

> Senior guard Eyassu Worku became the 10th Anteaters in school history to eclipse 300 assists. He did so at Colorado Monday, Nov. 14 after dishing out three assists and has 306 on the season. Worku is also approaching the 1,000 point mark with 957 career points
 
> True freshman Austin Johnson is making an immediate impact on the Anteater roster. He has 15 blocks on the season which ranks 16th nationally and is second among freshman
 
> UCI is ranked No.11 in this week's edition of the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll. The 'Eaters entered the year ranked No. 14
 
> Head Coach Russell Turner is seven wins away from becoming UCI's all-time winningiest coach, surpassing Pat Douglass (197 wins)
 
> Anteater alum Scott Brooks' jersey is being retired at UCI's next home game Saturday, Nov. 30th at the Bren Events Center

HEART BREAK IN TEXAS
> UCI led by two, 58-56, with four seconds to play until TCU's RJ Nembhard drilled in a three-pointer to seal a one-point, 59-58 victory
> Austin Johnson made a career-high five blocks including a big stop with 12 seconds to play to prevent a TCU layup
> Brad Greene finished with his second double-double of the season (10 points, 12 rebounds). His 12 boards were a career-high
> UCI held a 44-28 advantage in rebounds
 
ABOUT THE TITANS
> Detroit Mercy is 0-3 on the season with losses to RV North Carolina, 65-84, Clemson, 65-87, Wyoming, 49-76
> Mike Davis is in his second season with the Titans and has an 11-23 record. He is 363-264 over his career
> Antoine Davis, Mike Davis' son, leads the Titans with 21.7 points per game. Chris Brandon is second in scoring (8.0 ppg) and Justin Miller leads the team with 7.0 rebounds per game

ABOUT THE RAGIN' CAJUNS
> Louisiana is 3-2 on the season. The Ragin' Cajuns lost their last game to Wyoming, 69-61. They also faced TCU in Fort Worth and dropped a 65-98 decision
> The Ragin' Cajuns have three players averaging double-digit points per game including top-scorer, Jalen Johnson (17.6 ppg), Cedric Russell (15.6 ppg) and Kobe Julien (14.4 ppg)
> UCI and Louisiana met once in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament Mar. 23, 2016. The Anteaters won a 67-66 decision. Recruiting coordinator Alex Young had 21 points in the game
> Head Coach Bob Marlin is in his 10th season at Louisiana with a 174-124 record. Martin is 522-290 in a 26-season career
 
SENIOR LEADERS
> Through six games, seniors Eyassu Worku, Evan Leonard and Tommy Rutherford lead the 'Eaters in scoring with 13.2, 11.0 and 8.5 ppg, respectively. Worku leads the team with 22 assists (2.7 apg)
> Worku, Leonard, Tommy Rutherford and John Edgar Jr. have all played together since they were all sophomores in 2017-18. The four seniors have started a combined 229 games
> Rutherford is shooting a team-best 73.3% (22-30) from the floor while Worku is 56.3% from three-point range
 
BRAD IS BACK
> Coming off a redshirt season in 2018-19, RS junior Brad Greene is making an immediate impact for UCI. He leads the team with 7.2 rebounds per game and is fourth in scoring (8.7 ppg). Greene is shooting 60.5 percent from the floor. He recorded a career-high 12 rebounds against TCU (Nov. 21) and a season-high 14 points against Boise State (Nov. 15)
