No. 6 UC Irvine Beats Bakersfield, 13-3

RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- UC Irvine finished the Cal Baptist Mini Tournament with a 13-3 victory over No. 24 CSU Bakersfield at the Lancer Aquatics Center.
The Anteaters imporved to 2-0 overall on opening day, out-scoring opponents 33-7 over two games.
All-Americans McKenna Mitchell (4) and Mary Brooks (3) led UCI in scoring. Gabby Pierandozzi had two goals, while Kelsey Thornton, Corinna Toledo, Keana Eldridge, and Marissa Echelberger each had a goal in the win.
Jenna Phreaner recorded six saves and Riley Shaw had a save in the final quater.
The Anteaters travel to the Stanford Invitational next weekend (Feb. 4-5), squaring-off with Big West foe Hawaii at 9:45 a.m. in the first game of the day.
