PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea – UC Irvine's Jonathan Galloway and the Guam Men's National Basketball Team won the gold medal at the Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea Sunday.

The 6-10 Galloway, who will be a redshirt freshman for the Anteaters this season, scored five points and grabbed six rebounds in Guam's 78-61 win over Fiji in the title game.  It was Guam's first gold medal in 36 years at the Pacific Games.

Galloway played 25 minutes off the bench and converted an alley-oop dunk with 2:03 left to extend Guam's lead to 70-55.

He had eight boards and four points in 12 minutes of Guam's 89-57 victory over Tahiti in the semifinals Saturday.
