No. 5 Anteaters Win Scrap with Michigan, 11-9

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. --- UC Irvine had its hands full with Michigan Saturday evening posting an 11-9 victory in its second match of the Fluid Four tournament.
The Wolverines (6-9) led 2-1 early before UCI (11-6) powered three straight goals to end the first leading, 4-2.
The Anteaters built that streak to six unanswered goals and a 7-2 lead with 6:01 left in the third period.
Michigan responded closing the deficit to 8-6 in the first minute of the fourth period. A pair of Emily Carlson goals extended the lead back to 11-7 with 2:04 to go. UM's pair of goals in the final minute were not enough as the match ended, 11-9, in favor of UC Irvine.
Carlson earned the hat trick along with teammates Danielle Warde and McKenna Mitchell. Three Wolverines registered two-goal games.
The 'Eaters are 2-0 through the first day of the Fluid Four with a final match coming on Sunday, March 8, at 7:00 a.m.
