No. 65 UC Irvine Sweeps on Senior Day

IRVINE, Calif. --- Seniors Marivick Mamiit, Brooke Schweyer, and Franziska Goettsching celebrated their last match at Anteater Tennis Stadium Thursday with a 7-0 sweep of UC Riverside to close out Big West play.
Mamiit and partner Sarah Stadfelt clinched the doubles point with an 8-0 victory at No. 2 doubles.
Anteater singles conceded just two games in the six straight set wins capped off by Goettsching's win at No. 3 singles for the seventh and final point against the Highlanders (0-18, 0-7)
UCI finishes with a 15-6 record during the regular season, and most likely will finish second in the Big West with a 7-1 record. Next stop is Indian Wells Tennis Garden where UCI will be the No. 2 seed in the Big West Tournament. It will face the No. 7-seed at 8:00 a.m. on Fri. Apr. 25 to open the tournament.
