Anteaters Headed Back to Title Game

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. --- UC Irvine earned the sweep over UC Davis Saturday morning to reach the Big West Tournament Final for the 10th time in the last 13 years at Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
The Anteaters (16-7, 6-2) took the doubles point from UC Davis (12-12, 6-2) thanks to wins from duos Courtney Byron and Hannah Holladay and Kristina Smith and Franziska Goettsching.
Singles saw Stephanie Hammel return after a day off yesterday to get a point along with Smith in straight sets. Marivick Mamiit clinched it for UCI with a 6-0, 7-5 win to send UCI into the next round.
UCI will match up with Long Beach State which made it to its 12th straight Big West Tournament Final. The match will take place tomorrow morning, Sun. Apr. 29th, at 9:00 a.m. at Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
