• Represented the U.S. in Kayak Doubles (K-2 500) at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games

• Graduated from UC Irvine in 1968
• NCAA All-American in both swimming and water polo as an Anteater
• Inducted into the UCI Athletics Hall of Fame in 1985

EXTRAS
• Won five U.S. titles in K-1 and K-2 races
• Competed at the North American Championships (1973-75) and the 1974 World Championships
• Member of the U.S. National Water Polo Team from 1968-70
• World champion triathlete in his age group in 1996
• Also won several age group national titles in the triathlon
• Coached men’s and women’s cross country at Irvine Valley College
• Married to Julie Leach, a UCI graduate and 1976 Olympian in the women’s K-1 500
