Men's Basketball Claims No. 1 Seed with 81-62 Win

NEW TAIPEI CITY, Taiwan – UC Irvine men's basketball improved to 5-0 in pool play and clinched the top seed in their pool with an 81-62 victory over Malaysia.
UCI led throughout taking a 39-26 lead into halftime. Josh Palmer led at the half with eight points joined by Bryce Goldman's seven as two of the 10 players to score points. Other halftime leaders included Parker Spees with five rebounds and Josiah Johnson with four assists.
The 'Eaters poured in 21 points in each of the final two quarters while shooting 46.9% as a team and dropping eight three-pointers for the 81-62 win.

The semifinal match will be Saturday, August 22 at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time or 5:00 p.m. local time.
