FROM ASSISTANT COACH HERMONT LEGASPI
"The overall score vs Seton Hall did not reflect on how close the matches themselves truly were, but these types of matches just goes to show that we as a team are as deep and resilient as we can get! The majority of our doubles play today was all about our assertive positioning and setting up our points one shot after another, as well as looking to close off those poaches as hard as we can. Going into our singles play, we had to stay mentally composed and look to earn some opportunities from our ends of the court before our Seton Hall foes did. I'm glad that Haily took care of business in straights, but the rest of the 3rd set matches today are a sneak peak of what will come leading towards our upcoming matches and in the conference next month. We put on a good show of our constant hunger and grit to perform the way we did today regardless of win or loss, and we'll be ready to share more upcoming battles at our homestand against Colorado State and Richmond!"
FROM CAPTAIN HAILY HUYNH
"I am happy with the win today, it is always nice to be first off the court to put my team in a good position. I am so glad our team has a ton of confidence this season, we have a different fight than the past few years. It is so fun to see, I'm excited for the next two matches! Let's go 'Eaters!"
FROM YEN NHI HUYNH
"I'm really proud of everyone on our team for pushing through today in their matches. We had good energy throughout the day and had each other's back in singles and doubles. Five out of six singles matches were third sets which really showed how mentally strong we are to pull out a win and clinch the match 4-1. Really excited to bring this momentum forward and see what the season brings for us! Go 'Eaters!"
