ITA Recognizes 10 Anteaters On All-Academic Team

IRVINE, Calif. - UC Irvine women's tennis has been recognized as an ITA All-Academic Team for the ninth-straight year, while 10 Anteaters were named ITA Scholar-Athletes as announced Monday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
The 'Eaters, who recorded their winningest season in nearly a decade with 12 victories, were one of 231 women's tennis programs to receive All-Academic Team distinction. To be eligible, all student-athletes must combine for a minimum 3.20 team GPA for the 2025-26 academic year.
Individually, seniors Carolyna Fowler and Amanda Perez earned their first career ITA Scholar-Athlete awards. Additionally, the pair earned All-Big West second team honors for doubles. They combined for eight wins in the 2026 dual match season, and posted a 3-2 record in conference play.
Sophomores Maily Huynh and Yen Nhi Huynh also garnered ITA Scholar-Athlete awards for the second time in their careers. Yen Nhi Huynh was also named to the All-Big West singles team after winning nine matches with a 4-2 conference record for the 2025-26 season.
Juniors Bella Pitchford, Polina Jorniak, and Quin Brady each earned ITA Scholar-Athlete awards, with Pitchford earning the second honor of her career. Freshmen Ani Vanetsyan and Kara Chen and senior Nour Khayat also earned ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition for the first time in their careers.
To be eligible for the ITA Scholar-Athlete award, student-athletes must have carried a minimum 3.50 GPA for the 2025-26 academic year. It is the ninth time the Anteaters have had at least five ITA Scholar-Athlete selections.
