UC Irvine Women’s Tennis Adds Transfer Montana Parkinson

IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine women's tennis head coach Elizabeth Ferris welcomes talented transfer Montana Parkinson to the Anteater program for the 2026-27 season.
"We are excited to welcome Montana along with our incoming freshman Rachel Gee," Ferris said. "She was a strong junior player that went on to work her way up the lineup at New Mexico State and be a player that her teammates could rely on to get the tough win. Her fighting spirit and ability to win multiple ways will fit right into what we are building here."
Parkinson attended Amador Valley High School, where she was a four-star recruit ranked No. 109 nationally in the 2024 class. She won the East Bay Athletic League (EBAL) singles title all four years of high school and captured the North Coast Section (NCS) singles championship as a junior and senior in 2022 and 2023. As a team, Amador Valley finished runner-up at the NCS Championships in 2021 before claiming the title in 2022. Parkinson reached a career-high USTA national ranking of No. 114.
Parkinson spent the past two seasons at New Mexico State University. During the 2024-25 season, she advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Regional Doubles Championship while posting a 12-5 singles record and an 11-3 doubles mark. She competed at Nos. 3-6 in singles and No. 2 in doubles.
In 2025-26, Parkinson enjoyed a standout sophomore campaign, winning three fall tournaments and finishing the season with a 22-4 singles record. She also earned Conference USA All-Academic Team honors and was named an ITA Mountain Region Player to Watch. Parkinson competed at Nos. 2-4 in singles and No. 2 in doubles.
With her proven success at both the junior and collegiate levels, Parkinson brings experience, versatility and a competitive edge to the Anteaters as they prepare for the 2026-27 season.
