RENO, Nev. – Junior
Halle Sutherland highlighted the UC Irvine women's indoor track & field team's first day of action at the Wolf Pack Classic with a school record and top-eight finish in the 200m Friday at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.

Sutherland beat her personal best by .23 seconds with a time of 24.12 to place seventh out of 79. Her PR topped UCI's previous indoor 200m record of 24.26 that was set by Olympian Persis William-Mensah in 2018.

Sutherland established the Anteaters' third school record in as many meets this season, joining
Emma Hadley in the mile at the UW Invitational and the 4x400 relay at the season-opening Spokane Indoor Challenge.

The 'Eaters had more impressive performances behind Sutherland in the 200m. Graduate student
Aoife Hernon clocked a lifetime-best 24.40, which ranks third in program history. Senior
Samantha Bartz improved on her No. 4 time at UC Irvine with a personal-record 24.69. Sophomore
Ihe Okoh also came in at 25.06 to crack UCI's all-time top-10 at No. 8, while junior
Sarah Ajayi's 25.24 ranks 10th.

Mikah Longcob ran a 400m PR 57.20 to sit at No. 10 in indoor school history. Okoh added a season-best 57.82.

In the pole vault, junior
Alana Sugue cleared a personal-record 3.86 meters (12-8), moving her up one spot to No. 2 among the Anteaters' all-time leaders. Sugue finished fourth in the competition. Junior
Kaylee Tan also established a PR 3.71m (12-2), taking sole possession of fifth on UC Irvine's all-time charts.

Four 'Eaters cleared 1.68m (5-6) in the high jump. Senior
Esmeray Demirbas had a first-attempt clearance to finish second. Senior
Zharia Taylor and junior
Kailah McKenzie tied for third, while freshman
Joy Anderson tied for sixth. Senior
Jazzmine Davis also registered a personal-best 1.58m (5-2.25).

McKenzie was UCI's top performer in the long jump where she placed fifth in a field of 39. Her first leap of 5.58m (18-3.75) got her into the final where she saw an improvement with a season-best 5.72m (18-9.25). Davis added an eighth-place finish with a PR 5.57m (18-3.25).
