Evans Named To Naismith Defensive Player Of The Year Watch List

ATLANTA, Georgia -- Senior Kyle Evans has been named to the 2026 Naismith Men's College Defensive Player of the Year Presented by MOLECULE Watch List, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Thursday.
He is one of 25 players on the list and one of three on the western side of the country.
Evans leads the nation in blocks withย 67 and in average with a 3.19 mark. His 67 blocks are the most by an Anteater player since Will Davis II had 85 in 2012-13. Evans currently ranks seventh all-time in UCI blocks with 115, four shy of Patrick Sanders in sixth.
Evans is second in the Big West in rebound average (8.4) and field goal percentage (.632). ย The senior has recorded five double-doubles this season, the second most in the Big West and 69th nationally.
