No. 5 UC Irvine will host No. 16 Stanford in a pair of matches Friday and Saturday (Jan. 30 & 31) at the Bren Events Center. First serve both nights is 6:00 p.m.

STORYLINES

UCI improved to 7-0 following two five-set victories at No. 8 BYU last week. The Anteaters had a reverse sweep the first night, fighting back from 8-12 down in the final set.

UC Irvine joins UCLA and Long Beach State as the only three 7-0 teams in the country.

Nationally,Ā UCI is ranked sixth in hitting percentage (.387), 12th in aces 91.81) and 13th in kills (12.54), assists (11.69) and opponent's hitting percentage (.195).

Middle blocker Trevor Clark ranks 10th in the country in blocks per set at 1.27 per set.

William D'Arcy and Andrej Jokanovic earned their second consecutive Big West weekly honor, while Trevor Clark garnered his first career conference accolade. D'Arcy was tabbed Offensive Player of the Week, while Clark was Defensive and Jokanovic Freshman of the Week.

The trio all had career-highs in kills against BYU. In the second match,Ā D'Arcy led UCI with 22 kills, the second most by a Big West player this season. Clark had a career-high 13 kills in the first match and a career-best seven block assists in the second. Jokanovic lead UCI in the first match with the Cougars, putting away a career-high 19 kills.

THE CARDINAL LOWDOWN
The Anteaters have beaten Stanford in each of the last six meetings, including a pair of 3-0 matches in Palo Alto last season.

Stanford is 1-4 on the year, picking up their first win of the year againstĀ UC Santa Barbara, 3-2 last week.

FAMILY AFFAIR
This week's matches features a Kosty on each side of the net. Redshirt freshman UCI's Cameron Kosty will be playing against his father John, who is the Cardinal's head coach.

The younger Kosty recorded a career-high 49 set assists in the second match with BYU, the third most by a Big West player this season.
