Winning In The Classroom: 2025 Spring Quarter Success

IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine student-athletes were successful in the classroom following the 2025 Spring Quarter.

Following the Spring academic quarter, 117 student-athletes were honored on the Dean's List. To qualify for the Dean's List, individuals need 12 or more undergraduate graded units in a quarter with a GPA of 3.500 or better.

Men's tennis held the top spot among UCI's men's teams with a 3.49 spring quarter GPA. The back-to-back Big West Champions excelled in the classroom all year long as they also led the way in the winter (3.48), and in the fall when they tied men's golf with a 3.33 GPA.

"My experience has demonstrated that our most successful teams on the court also excel in the classroom," men's tennis head coach Mike Saunders said. "I firmly believe that true 'success' is built on a foundation of values, integrity, and character. UCI men's tennis is dedicated to creating an environment that inspires our student-athletes to be intellectually curious, passionate, and ambitious, both academically and athletically. I would like to express my gratitude to our players for prioritizing their academics. This commitment not only enhances our recruiting and fundraising efforts, but also helps us cultivate a brand that aligns with our University's core values."

With a 3.74 mark, women's tennis finished atop all women's programs for the second time this year.

Overall, 15 UCI teams earned over a 3.0 GPA in the quarter.
