UC Irvine Lands Two on CSC Academic All-District Team

CSC Academic All-District Release

IRVINE, Calif. –
Juniors DeAna Davis and Zharia Taylor have been named to the 2025 CSC Academic All-District Women's Track & Field Team, selected by College Sports Communicators.

The award recognizes the top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track, in the field, and in the classroom.
 
DeAna Davis was the Big West runner-up and an NCAA West First Round qualifier in the hammer throw. She established a personal-record 57.65 meters (189-1) at the Vince O'Boyle Classic, which ranks second in program history. Davis, who had seven top-five finishes, opened the season with back-to-back wins at the Ben Brown Invitational and UCR Spring Classic. Davis is majoring in education sciences.
 
Zharia Taylor earned second-team All-America honors after tying for 16th in the high jump at the NCAA Championships. She advanced to nationals with a top-12 showing at the NCAA West First Round where she cleared a personal-record 1.79 meters (5-10.5). Her height ranks second in school history. Taylor had two individual victories during the regular season and was the Big West runner-up in the high jump. Taylor is majoring in urban studies.
 
Davis and Taylor helped UC Irvine win the first Big West Women's Track & Field Championship in program history.
 
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, maintain a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and be in the top-50 in the region in a single event.
