LONG BEACH & WALNUT, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's track & field team wrapped up action at the Beach Invitational and Mt. SAC Relays on Saturday.
 
At Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, Angel Cordero (800m) and Jacob Hawkins (Discus) competed in the Elite section of their respective events. Hawkins advanced to the final in the discus and placed eighth overall with a toss of 53.10 meters (174-2). Cordero was 13th in the 800m (1:49.35). It was his second 800m of the week as he also clocked a personal-best 1:48.69 at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Thursday evening.
 
Over in Long Beach, the Anteaters were in action in four field events. Alan Vuong tied for 12th in the high jump (1.98m/6-6), while Jerry Roberts tied for 17th in the long jump (6.82m/22-4.5). Chimobi Onye also competed in the shot put (14.74m/48-4.5) and discus (41.68m/136-9).
 
UCI will have a week off before returning to Anteater Stadium to host the Steve Scott Invitational, May 2-3.
