IRVINE, Calif. – No. 4 UC Irvine was clicking on all facets of the game in a 3-0 sweep of No. 9 CSUN (25-14, 25-16, 25-18) on senior night at the Bren Events Center Thursday.
The Anteaters, who improved to 19-6 overall and 5-4 in the Big West, hit .444 (39-7-72), fired 12 aces and out-blocked the Matadors 6.5-3.0.
Senior
Hilir Henno led all players with 20 kills and five aces. He is 10 shy of tying the NCAA all-time record of 255 held by UCSB's Evan Patek (2004-07).
Senior
Nolan Flexen led the team with seven digs to go with three kills and two block assists.
Setter
Joe Karlous had 31 set assists, six digs and two block assists. It is the eight time the grad student has guided UCI to a .400 hitting percentage or better.
Maxim Grigoriev, who will graduate in three years, had three aces, two blocks and two kills.
