IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine baseball completed the weekend sweep of UC Riverside Sunday, 7-4, for their 10th win in a row.
- The visitors struck first taking their first lead of the weekend with a first-inning, two-run home run to go up, 2-0
- UC Irvine answered back with a pair of clutch two-run singles in the second inning to overtake the lead, 4-2
- UC Riverside battled back legging out a pair of infield singles in the fifth inning and tying it on a two-out double, 4-4
- Colin Yeaman responded to lead off the bottom of the inning with a solo home run and take the lead back, 5-4
- UCI would add on runs in each of the next two innings from a Frankie Carney single and Jacob McCombs scoring after a leadoff triple in the eighth to make it 7-4.
- Max Martin locked down his seventh save of the year getting all six batters he faced on 15 pitches in the eighth and ninth
- Ryder Brooks battled through five innings to earn his first win won a weekend start going five innings as he improved to 3-1 on the season
- Finnegan Wall bridged the gap to Martin going two scoreless innings with three strikeouts for a hold
- Yeaman carried the offense with three hits and RBIs, and now leads the team with eight home runs this year
The 'Eaters sit at 21-5 on the season and 11-1 in Big West action as they head into their conference bye week. One more game at home comes Tuesday vs. San Diego with first pitch at 6:00 p.m. before the weekend road trip to No. 5 Oregon State
