IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine women's tennis swept Stanton, 7-0, to get back into the win column on Thursday afternoon.
 
UCI (8-7, 1-3 Big West) got out to a hot start in doubles as Kayla Meraz and Haily Huynh teamed up for a 6-0 victory over Kimmy Muangpho/Stefany Stemmer at the top of the lineup. Maily Huynh and Amanda Perez followed suit at No. 3 as they took down Emili Mkhitaryan/Lana Kamel, 6-0, to give the Anteaters a 1-0 lead.
 
The 'Eaters were dominant in singles with straight set wins over the Elks on all six courts. Yen Nhi Huynh quickly gave UC Irvine a 2-0 advantage after taking down Stemmer, 6-0, 6-1, at the second position. Nour Khayat then closed out a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Kamal at No. 6, before Lindsay Kim delivered the match-clinching point on court five (6-1, 6-1).
 
Play continued on the remaining courts with Perez downing Clara Olivin, 6-0, 6-1, and H. Huynh defeating Muangpho, 6-1, 6-1. Bella Pitchford then closed it out against Polina Burenina, 6-2, 6-2, to secure the sweep.
