UC Irvine Moves up to Fourth After Day 2 at Torrey Pines

LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC Irvine men's golf saw a seven-stroke improvement in the second round of the UC San Diego Invitational Monday at Torrey Pines South Course.
 
The Anteaters moved up one spot into fourth place with a 36-hole score of 601 (304-297). They are three strokes back of Arkansas State (598) and two behind Utah State (599). Sacramento State is in the lead at 2-over 593 (303-290).
 
Freshman Jack Yu remained in the top-10 as he is tied for ninth with a two-round total of 149 (74-75).
 
Junior Rei Harashima finished with an even-par 72 to climb 27 spots into a tie for 15th (150). Harashima had a team-leading five birdies on the day.
 
Freshman Tommy Lin matched Harashima with a second-round 72 to move up 50 spots in the standings. Lin is tied for 42nd at 154 (82-72). Sophomore Jason Tang is also tied for 42nd (76-78), while freshman Owen Davis-Piger is tied for 57th (156).
 
UCI closes out the UC San Diego Invitational on Tuesday, March 25. The final round is slated for a 7 a.m. start at Torrey Pines.
