Box Score EL PASO, Texas – UC Irvine bounced back for a 4-0 sweep of UTEP Sunday morning to close out their southwest road trip.
 
The Anteaters (5-5, 1-1) played a tough doubles competition in conditions outside of their comfort zone. However, they persisted to claim the doubles point with a 6-3 win by Kayla Meraz and Amanda Perez on court one followed by Carolyna Fowler and Yen Nhi Huynh on court two going 6-4.
 
Y. Huynh pushed the UCI lead up to two when she handled UTEP's No. 3 Paloma Hennicaux 6-2, 6-0 before Maily Huynh's match at No. 6 was finished due to the Miner's injury retirement [7-6 (7-4), 2-1]. Back in the lineup for UC Irvine, Haily Huynh won the match for the 'Eaters at the No. 5 spot, going 6-4, 6-3 over V. Carreno Torres.

UCI was ahead on the other three courts when the match was called.
