UC Irvine To Host Trio Of Matches

IRVINE, Calif.— UC Irvine is set to host three teams in four days this coming week, including a three-team mini tournament inside the Anteater Tennis Stadium.

Scouting Utah State
Utah State enters the week with a 4-4 overall record after collecting two narrow 4-3 victories over Montana (Feb. 23) and Idaho State (Feb. 26) in the last week of action. Three of the Aggies wins were in close matches coming away from their match with Santa Clara on Feb. 15 by a one-point margin.
Indya Nespor holds a 4-4 overall record in individual action, the most wins of any USU player during singles play. Nespor has two wins at No. 1 and No. 2 each. Nespor teams up with Cielo Tapia-Cruz for doubles play, holding a 4-1 record at the No. 2 spot where they have won two straight matches, and are 5-2 overall.
Scouting Illinois State
Illinois State holds a 6-4 record on the year and are set to take on SIUE on Mar. 7 before heading out to the Golden State to take on Utah State in a neutral site meeting before taking on the Anteaters. The Redbirds are on a two-match win streak, earning victories over Radford (W, 4-1) and Eastern Illinois (W, 6-1).
In their last outing, Illinois State collected the doubles point and then won five singles matches.
Scouting Lehigh
Lehigh, who is 5-2 on the year, is coming off a 5-2 victory against LIU on Sunday. The Mountain Hawks are set for a four-match swing in California, first making stops at UC Riverside (Mar. 10) and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Mar. 11) before heading to Irvine for the Anteaters on Mar. 12 and CUI (Mar. 13).
Lehigh took the doubles point against LIU by way of wins by Maggie Forkner/Allyce Gaborik and Ronit Khromchenko/Skye Yonehara. Both Forkner and Khromchenko added tallies to the Mountain Hawks side in singles play.
