
Leuchten; Tillis Named To NABC All-District Teams

IRVINE, Calif. โย UC Irvine senior center Bent Leuchten and redshirt senior forward Devin Tillis were honored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) for the 2024-25 season.

Leuchten was named to the Pacific District First Team while Tillis placed on the Second Team. The All-District honors are voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division I.
Leuchten leads the Anteaters with a 15.4 scoring average and 9.0 rebounds per game, topping the Big West with 17 double-doubles this season which ranks seventh nationally. He has eight 20-point, 10-rebound double-doubles on the season, just one of seven players in the nation to complete eight or more. The center has led the rebounding effort in 23 games while leading the scoring 13 times.
The Karlsfeld, Germany native adds on to his postseason accolades as he was selected as a Lou Henson Award finalist, the All-Big West First Team, and the All-Big West Tournament team within the last week.
Tillis lands second on the squad in both points (13.2 pg) and rebounds (7.6 pg) and comes in third in total assists (80). The forward posted 22 double figure scoring performances of the season, six of those ending with 20 points or more. He also led the rebounding effort 14 times and was the top passer five times, most recently versus UC San Diego (Mar. 15) with a career-high eight assists.

The Los Angeles native has received several postseason accolades as he was named a Nolan Richardson Award finalist, to the All-Big West First Team, and to the All-Big West Tournament team.
Both Tillis and Leuchten are part of the 29-player 500-career rebounding club sitting at 14th (657) and 15th (631) respectively in the all-time ranks. Leuchten joined the 1,000-career points scoring club this season, totaling 1,106 in 113 games played, and Tillis is close to entering with 994 points at UC Irvine in 99 games.
Additionally, Leuchten and Tillis become the first Anteaters to earn NABC All-District honors since Colin Welp in 2021.
UC Irvine holds a 28-6 overall record entering their first round NIT matchup with Northern Colorado on Wednesday Mar. 19 inside the Bren Events Center.

The NABC introduced a new model for its Division I district alignment this season, with schools arranged by state rather than by conference. The modernized NABC Division I district alignment features 10 geographic regions that each encompass multiple states. Every Division I school in each given state belongs to that state's corresponding district.
