SPOKANE, Wash. – Senior
Malia Gay broke the school record in an 800m victory to lead the UC Irvine women's indoor track & field team Friday at the Riverfront Invitational & Multis.

Gay crossed the finish line in 2:09.52 to beat out 48 other athletes. Her personal-best topped the Anteaters' previous standard of 2:12.10 that was set by Emma McCarthy in 2023.

Halle Sutherland came in at 24.39 in the 200m, bettering her No. 2 time in program history by .01 seconds. Junior
Samantha Bartz also moved up two spots to No. 4 among UCI's all-time leaders with a lifetime-best 24.74.

Freshman
Rachel Moen claimed runner-up honors in the 5000m in her indoor collegiate debut. Moen clocked in at 18:22.03.

Anna Vogtmann closed out Friday's action on the track with a second-place showing in the distance medley relay (12:01.08).

In the high jump, juniors
Esmeray Demirbas and
Zharia Taylor both cleared a season-best 1.73 meters (5-8). They placed among the top-three in a field of 28, and moved into a tie for third with teammate
Kailah McKenzie in program history.

Reyna Johnson was also the runner-up in the long jump at 5.82 meters (19-1.25), while McKenzie placed fourth (5.70m/18-8.5).
