STORYLINES
The Anteaters continue their homestand, hosting Weber State Saturday (Nov. 15) at 7:00 p.m. at the Bren Events Center.

UCI is 14th this week in the Colleginsider.com mid major Top 25 rankings.

UC Irvine is 2-1 overall coming off a 130-63 victory over Lincoln Monday night.

Guard Derin Saran recorded the program's first ever triple-double with a game and career-high 20 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. He is one of three players in the country to accomplish the feat this season.

Other program firsts Monday night included bettered the school record for assists in a game for the second time this season with 40, six more than the mark set last week versus Bethesda.

The team's 59 made field goals were a school and Bren Center record, while the 88 attempts were also a new Bren Center record, just one shy of the overall school mark.

The Anteaters 71 second half points are also a Bren Center record, surpassing the old record of 70 set twice before, the last in 2020 against Bethesda.

Weber State enters the game 2-1 playing the last of a three-game road swing in Irvine.

The Wildcats are coming off an 83-73 loss at Utah State on Wednesday. Trevor Henning led four players in double-digit points with 19.  Niguel Burris had a double-double with 15 points and a team-high 12 rebounds.

Weber State owns a 3-1 series advantage against the Anteaters, but UCI defeated the Wildcats 93-87 in the last meeting a year ago in Ogden, UT.

On the glass, Weber State is ranked second in the country in rebounding (56.67) and UCI is eighth (51.33).

ANTEATERS ARE AMONG NATION'S BEST
The Anteaters are among the nation's leaders in several categories including No. 1 in the country in assists per game with a 28.3 average.

UCI is sixth in scoring offense (105.3), eighth in rebounds per game (51.33) and field goal percentage defense (31.8), ninth in blocks (7.7) and assist/turnover ratio (2.50), 10th in defensive rebounds (34.67) and 11th in field goal percentage (.559).

Guard Tama Isaac is ranked 12th in total assists (22) and assist average (7.3).

Harrison Carrington is 14th in field goal percentage (77.3) and Kyle Evans is 26th in blocking average (2.67).

WEBER STATE BREAKDOWN
Weber State's is second in the country in rebounds on the strength of a 78-rebound performance against West Coast Baptist. 78 boards are the second most in the country this season.

The Wildcats are also ranked third in three-point field goal defense holding opponents to a 15.4 mark.

Like the Anteaters, the Wildcats scored 130 in an opening night win over West Coast Baptist (130-38).  The teams' 130 points are the sixth most in the country this season.

Weber State is 25th nationally in scoring at 97.3 points per game.

Weber State suffered a 92-89 overtime loss at Utah after lead by as many as 11 points in the game before the Utes won in overtime. 

Weber State returns four players that played last year and added eight new players, including four transfers.

Niguel Burris is the only senior on this year's Wildcat team. Weber State is one of 22 schools in the nation with one or fewer seniors on the roster this season. 

The last time Weber State came to the Bren they were led by future-NBA guard Damian Lillard who dropped 27 points in an 80-72 Wildcat win over the Anteaters back on November 19, 2011.

Lillard was officially named the General Manager of the Weber State program.

CANCUN BOUND
Next week's contest with Utah Valley is the start of the three game Cancun Challenge.

Following the game in Orem, the Anteaters will head to Cancun, Mexico Nov. 21-22 to play New Mexico State and South Dakota State.
