Anteaters Take on Regional Competition in San Diego This Week

IRVINE, Calif. – The UC Irvine women's tennis team will travel to San Diego for both the ITA Southwest Regional Championships (Oct. 16-21) and the Triton Invitational (Oct. 16-18) this week.
 
At the ITA Southwest Regional Championships, Haily Huynh will start action in the main draw, while Yen Nhi Huynh, Maily Huynh, Quin Brady, Amanda Perez, and Carolyna Fowler are entered in qualifying singles that get underway Thursday at 9 a.m. They will need to win two rounds to join H. Huynh in the main draw.
 
This is one of four NCAA qualifying tournaments with the two singles finalists and the doubles champion punching their ticket to the 2025 NCAA Individual Championships.
 
In La Jolla, Kara Chen, Sayuri Parandian, Bella Pitchford, and Mackenzie Lukin will compete against opponents from several other Big West schools at the Triton Invitational.
 
The Anteaters opened their fall season at the Big West Fall Selection Event at UC San Diego, Oct. 2-5. Fowler, H. Huynh, and M. Huynh advanced to the Round of 32 in singles, while the tandems of Brady/Perez and Y. Huynh/M. Huynh made it to the Round of 16 in doubles.
