IRVINE, Calif. -Â UC Irvine men's golf is right back in action at the Oregon State Invitational, Oct. 14-15. The two-day tournament will be contested on the par-72, 6,970-yard course at Illahe Hills Country Club in Salem, Oregon. Thirty-six holes are scheduled for Tuesday, while the final 18 are set to be played on Wednesday. Both days will have an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
With the quick turnaround, the Anteaters have the same five as the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational that concluded on Saturday, Oct. 11, with

Jack Yu,
Owen Davis-Piger,
Jason Tang, and
Tommy Lin looking to defend UCI's 2024 Oregon State Invitational team title.
The 'Eaters are part of a 15-team field that includes Arizona State, Boise State, California Baptist, Cal State Fullerton, Colorado State, Eastern Washington, Gonzaga, Idaho, Seattle U, Tarleton State, UC Riverside, Utah Valley, Wyoming, and tournament host Oregon State.
TOURNAMENT REWIND
Last year, UC Irvine earned its first stroke play tournament victory in seven years, taking home the team title at the 2024 Oregon State Invitational. The Anteaters entered the final round at Trysting Tree Golf Club in a tie for second before erasing a five-stroke deficit. They overtook tournament host OSU, finishing first at 4-under 848 (288-275-285).
JJ Nakao paced UCI with a 211 (-2) for a career-best fourth-place showing.
Jason Tang tied for 12th at even-par 213, while
Jack Yu and
Rei Harashima were also among the top-20 at 2-over 215.
Owen Davis-Piger came in 22nd (216).
LAST TIME OUT
UC Irvine combined for a 5-count-4 total of 888 (304-289-295) to finish 16th at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational, Oct. 9-11.
Rei Harashima led the Anteaters at 2-over 218. Harashima carded a 70 (-2) in the final round to climb 22 spots into a tie for 34th.
Jack Yu tied for 55th (221), while
Owen Davis-Piger was three strokes back in a tie for 70th.
Jason Tang (225) and
Tommy Lin (240) rounded out UCI's lineup.
SENIOR SPOTLIGHT
Rei Harashima, a three-time All-Big West honoree, is back for his senior season. In 2024-25, Harashima led the 'Eaters with nine sub-70 rounds and a 72.13 stroke average. He placed eighth at the Big West Championships, a year after taking third at the conference tournament. Harashima has played in every event for UCI over the last three-plus years, compiling seven top-10 showings and a 72.51 career average.Â
YEAR TWO
Sophomores
Tommy Lin and
Jack Yu are coming off impressive freshmen campaigns in which they both earned All-Big West honorable mention recognition. Yu ranked second on the 2024-25 squad with a 72.48 scoring average, while Lin was fourth at 73.38. Lin (T11th) and Yu (T18th) also placed among the top-20 in their Big West Championship debuts. Owen Davis-Piger played in five tournaments last year, finishing with a 74.87 average.
MR. CONSISTENCY
Junior
Jason Tang has played in every tournament since he arrived on campus in 2023-24. Through 66 rounds, Tang owns a 73.74 career average. He has five top-20 showings with a career-best sixth-place finish coming in his collegiate debut where he carded a 10-under 203 at the Nick Watney Invitational in September 2023.
