IRVINE Calif. - The UC Irvine women's tennis team is set to open its fall campaign in the inaugural Big West Fall Selection Event. The 10-team tournament, which runs from October 2-5 at UC San Diego, will feature a field of 64 Big West singles players and 32 doubles participants.
 
The Anteaters have 10 individuals set to compete in the four-day tournament. They have six singles players and three doubles teams in the main draw beginning Thursday, Oct. 2. The rest of the squad will compete in an extra matches draw that starts on Friday, Oct. 3.
 
UCI enters the 2025-26 season with eight returners from last year's squad. This includes All-Big West second team doubles selection Carolyna Fowler and Yen Nhi Huynh. Fowler and Huynh competed primarily at No. 2, recording a 13-4 dual match record (5-3 in the Big West).
 
The 'Eaters welcome six newcomers to the team with transfers Quin Brady and Polina Jorniak, and freshmen Kara Chen, Mackenzie Lukin, Sayuri Parandian, and Ani Vanetsyan.
