TULSA, Okla. - Senior Noah Zamora earned a straight-set win to advance in the ITA All-American Championships main draw consolation bracket Thursday morning at Case Tennis Center.
Zamora was impressive with a convincing 6-1, 6-3 victory over Tulsa's Reiya Komagata. After dropping the first game, Zamora stepped on the gas, winning the next six to take the first set. The second frame went back-and-forth before Zamora won deuce point to break serve for a 4-2 lead. He went up 5-2 and eventually closed out the match with an ace.
Zamora moves on to tomorrow's consolation Round of 32 where he will face No. 64 Miguel Perez Pena from the University of Georgia.
The eight main draw quarterfinalists and two feed-in consolation finalists will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship in November.
