LA QUINTA, Calif. - Sophomore
Rei Harashima moved into a tie for first to lead UC Irvine on the second day of the 2024 Big West Men's Golf Championship Monday at La Quinta Country Club.

Harashima fired another 68 for a 36-hole score of 8-under 136 (68-68). He pulled even with Cal State Fullerton's Tegan Andrews, who came in at 1-over in the second round after opening the tournament with a 63 (-9) on Sunday.

Harashima made the turn at 1-under and had a clean back nine where he birdied the 10th, 13th and 17th. He also had a strong finish in yesterday's first round as he had an eagle and three birdies from the 11th through the 16th.

Senior
Darien Zhao carded a 74 (+2) and sits in a tie for 20th with a two-round total of 148 (74-74). Freshman
Jason Tang is also tied for 24th at 149 (73-76).

Sophomore
Jin Nakao climbed seven spots in the standings with an even-par 72. He is tied for 30th at 151 (79-72). Sophomore
Yaoting Zou rounds out UCI's lineup in a tie for 30th (151).

The seventh-seeded Anteaters remained in fourth place with a 5-count-4 score of 580 (290-290). They are now 13 strokes back of No. 1 seed Long Beach State, which took the lead at 9-under 567. No. 2 Cal State Fullerton (570) is second and No. 3 Cal Poly (575) is third.

The 'Eaters will be back at La Quinta Country Club on Tuesday for the final round of the 2024 Big West Men's Golf Championship. They are paired with UC Davis and CSUN with tee times starting at 8 a.m.
