Rei Harashima both came in below par to lead the UC Irvine men's golf team in the first round of the Ka'anapali Classic Monday at Royal Ka'anapali Golf Course.

The Anteaters closed the opening round in 18th with a 5-count-4 total of 288 (+4). No. 21 Oklahoma leads the field at 21-under 263, while No. 59 TCU is four strokes back in second. The Sooners' Jase Summy had the best individual round of the day at 9-under 62.

Davis-Piger paced the 'Eaters with a collegiate career-best 3-under 68 to tie for 24th. After a bogey on his second hole, Davis-Piger bounced back with a birdie. He then settled in with three more birdies over his final 12.

Harashima is tied for 34th at 2-under 69. Harashima had a clean scorecard, making 16 pars and two birdies. It's his second sub-70 round of the season.

Sophomore
Tommy Lin  came in at 3-over 74, while junior
Jason Tang recorded a 77 (+6). Freshman
Kody Li, who made his collegiate debut, rounded out UCI's lineup with an 82.
