LA JOLLA, Calif. --- UC Irvine baseball dropped the series opener to UC San Diego at Triton Ballpark, 15-4, Friday night.

    • Two home runs in the second inning helped score three more and make it an 8-1 game
    • A two-out triple scored two in the third and a two-out, three-run home run in the fourth capped off a four-run inning to make it 14-1, UCSD
  • UCI put together three singles to start the eighth inning scoring all later on from two sacrifice flies and a bases loaded walk as the score ended, 15-4
  • Nick Pinto was touched up for the first time this year allowing seven earned runs and lasting just two innings
  • The offense drove in all four of their runs by some other means than a single
