IRVINE, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's tennis team did not drop a set in a clean 7-0 sweep of Villanova Tuesday afternoon at Anteater Tennis Stadium.

UCI improved to 6-3 overall and 5-0 at home, while Nova dropped to 4-6 on the season.

The 'Eaters got out to a fast start with
Brandon Park and
Matthew Sah teaming up for a 6-1 victory over Eitan Khromchenko/Noah Winton at No. 3.

Rahul Dhokia and
Noah Zamora followed suit as they took down Josh Robinson/Thomas Wakefield, 6-1, at the top of the lineup to secure the doubles point.

Andy Nguyen and
Hiroki Sakagawa played out their match at the second position where they defeated Justin Frattarelli/Will Monahan, 6-3.

Nguyen carried the momentum into singles where he made quick work of Khromchenko, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 3.

At No. 4,
Lawee Sherif won his first set by a 6-2 score and raced out to a 4-0 advantage in the second before Ryan Nguyen retired due to injury.

Ali Amiri then clinched the match for UC Irvine by dispatching Thomas Wakefield, 6-1, 6-1, on court five.

The Anteaters continued to roll with three more straight-set wins.
Rithvik Krishna was bumped up to court two for the first time in his career, but wasn't fazed as he upended Will Monahan, 6-2, 6-3.

Dhokia, who was making his Anteater singles debut, also picked up a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Lukas Choi at No. 6.

Enrique Luque Rico finished off the sweep with an impressive 7-5, 6-3 triumph over Robinson at No. 1.

UC Irvine will make its way to UCLA for a 1 p.m. match on Thursday, March 7. The Bruins are ranked 31st in the nation.
