The win puts UCI to 22-3 on the season and an 8-1 mark in Big West play heading into a three-game home series against UC Santa Barbara next weekend.
Postgame Thoughts
Head Coach
Ben Orloff -
"You know me enough to know how hard I think it is to win here, and to sweep is really impressive. The amount of different guys we played this weekend, different guys contributing."
"I thought today was going to be all about competition, and that's what we got. It started in that first inning, we get those three at-bats to start the game that kind of takes a little bit of the edge off, but yearh a complete nine-inning game with six-plus scoreless out of the bullpen, a lot of them two or three times in the game this weekend. We have depth on this team, and we've been forced to use maybe more than I would like to, but today was about competition and we did good at that."
Ryder Brooks -
"I came out like I always try to do with first-pitch strike and get the leadoff hitter. I was able to do that with some help on the defense as well, and everything fell in place."
"That means everything, having a lot of guys injured and everybody being able to do their part including myself, it's why we've been so successful this season and we just need to keep doing that."
