IRVINE, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's tennis team earned its second-straight sweep with a 7-0 victory over Case Western Reserve Tuesday afternoon at Anteater Tennis Stadium.

The 'Eaters  improved to 8-4 overall and are now 7-0 at home. The Spartans, who are the defending NCAA Division III National Champions and currently ranked fourth in the nation, fell to 10-3.

CWRU put up a good fight in doubles, but UCI came out on top on all three courts. At No. 3,
Matthew Sah and
Brandon Park defeated Daniel French/Yuvraj Narang, 6-3.

Andy Nguyen and
Hiroki Sakagawa followed with a 6-4 triumph over Sahil Dayal/Anmay Devaraj at No. 2 to clinch the doubles point. Nguyen and Sakagawa are tops on the team with a 7-2 dual-match doubles record.

Rahul Dhokia and
Noah Zamora also outlasted Vishwa Aduru/Diego Maza, 7-5, at the top of the lineup. The Anteaters led the entire match until the Spartans won back-to-back games to knot the score at 5-all. Dhokia and Zamora held steady, taking the next two games for the win.

Dhokia kept the momentum in singles where he blanked Maza, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 5.
Ali Amiri then closed out a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Devaraj at the sixth spot, setting up the match-clinching point from Zamora. On court two, Zamora took a hard-fought first set, 6-4, before rolling 6-0 in the second against Ajay Mahenthiran.

Lawee Sherif also upended Casey Hishinuma, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 4.
Rithvik Krishna took down Ansh Shah, 6-4, 7-5 at No. 3, and Sakagawa closed out the afternoon with a 6-2, 6-3 triumph over Michael Sutanto at No. 1.

Sakagawa and Sherif both extended their win streaks to six, while Amiri and Zamora won their fifth-straight.

UC Irvine returns to Anteater Tennis Stadium on Friday, March 15, when it plays host to No. 6 Columbia. First serve is set for 10 a.m.
