LONG BEACH, Calif. - UC Irvine women's track & field kicked off the outdoor season with six student-athletes competing in the javelin and hammer throw on the first day of the Beach Opener Friday at Jack Rose Track.

Sophomore
DeAna Davis had the Anteaters' top finish with a third-place showing in the hammer throw. Davis started the competition with a personal-record 53.32 meters (174-11) and that stood as her best of the afternoon. Davis moved up one spot to No. 6 in program history. Senior
Deandra Tyler was also fourth in the hammer with a toss of 52.25m (171-5).

Jolie Robinson led four 'Eaters in the javelin as she advanced to the final where she came in ninth with a toss of 41.49m (136-1). Junior
Jazzmine Davis added a lifetime-best 32.99m (108-3).
