LEXINGTON, KY -- UC Irvine men's volleyball player
Hilir Henno has been named American Volleyball Coaches Association Men's National Collegiate Player of the Week.
It is Henno's second career AVCA weekly award, garnering his first nod on Jan. 10, 2023.
Yesterday, the junior was also named Big West Offensive Player of the Week for the fifth time in his career and second time this season.
The outside hitter averaged 6.38 kills, 1.63 digs, 1.25 blocks and 7.50 points per set in a pair of wins over then-fifth ranked Stanford. He started the week with 23 kills, hitting .422 (23-4-45 and adding three aces, seven digs and five total blocks (1 solo).
He bettered that performance in the second meeting, recording 28 kills, the fourth most in the country this year. Henno also totaled six digs and five total blocks (1 solo), tying his season-high at the net.
It is the 33rd time a UC Irvine player has been honored.
