IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine men's volleyball players
Hilir Henno and
Cole Power were honored by The Big West with weekly honors after UC Irvine upended then-No. 5 Stanford twice.
Henno was named Offensive Player of the Week after averaging 6.38 kills, 1.63 digs, 1.25 blocks and 7.50 points per set in the wins over the Cardinal. He started the week with 23 kills, hitting .422 (23-4-45 and adding three aces, seven digs and five total blocks (1 solo). In the second meeting, he was one shy of his career-high with 28 kills, the fourth most in the country this year. He recorded six digs and five total blocks (1 solo block), tying his season-high at the net for the junior.
Power earned his second career Defensive Player of the Week honor. The libero totaled 10 digs in the first meeting with Stanford then had a season-high 13 in the second. Power, who has recorded double-digit digs four times this season, averaged 2.88 digs for the week with five set assists. For the season, he is third in the Big West in dig average with 1.78 per set.
The fifth-ranked Anteaters will take on Concordia Friday at 7:00 p.m. in Crawford Hall.
