LAHAINA, Maui - The UC Irvine men's golf team completed the first round of the Ka'anapali Classic Saturday at the Royal Ka'anapali Golf Course.

The Anteaters combined for a 5-count-4 total of 286 (+2) to tie for 16th through 18 holes. Second-ranked Oklahoma (264) holds the early lead. The 21-team field also features No. 5 LSU, No. 26 Georgia, No. 32 Colorado and No. 48 TCU.

Rei Harashima and sophomore
Jason Tang both carded a 2-under 69 to tie for 38th among 123 golfers. Tang had three birdies and fired a hole-in-one on the Par 3, 185-yard eighth. Tang is the first Anteater with an ace in tournament play since Ramiz Jamal in February 2019.

Harashima recorded his fifth sub-70 round of the season. He had a team-best four birdies to go along with an eagle on the Par 5, 460-yard sixth hole.

Owen Davis-Piger each came in at 3-over 74, while freshman
Jack Yu rounded out UCI's lineup with a 76 (+5).
