UC Irvine Nets Three Wins on First Day of SDVTC

SAN DIEGO - UC Irvine opened the San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic with three wins against Oregon Friday at the University of San Diego's Hogan Tennis Center.
Rithvik Krishna went 2-0 on the afternoon. In singles, Krishna defeated the Ducks' Matthew Burton, 6-3, 6-3. He also teamed up with Sohrob Amiryavari to win their doubles match, 6-4.
Max Fardanesh added an impressive singles victory, taking down Zian Vanderstappen in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5.
Amiryavari dropped a close match to Clement Lemire, 6-4, 6-4, while Ruining Huang came up short against Paris Pouatcha.
The Anteaters are back in action tomorrow as they are scheduled to face Navy starting at 2:30 p.m.
