Shipman Earns Program's Sixth Big West Weekly Honor Of The Season

IRVINE, Calif. – Attacker Ethan Shipman was awarded Big West Player of the Week honors on Wednesday afternoon the conference announced.
This is the second career weekly honor for the senior, first of the season, and sixth of the season for the Anteater program.
Shipman shined in a 2-0 weekend for No. 9/8 UC Irvine, including a sudden death victory over No. 16/15 UC Santa Barbara to remain undefeated in league action.
In the game against the Gauchos, Shipman notched a hat-trick with his third goal of the contest being the game winner in the eight period (sudden victory) of the contest along with three assists as the Anteaters defeated UCSB, 14-13.
UCI went on to take down No. 7/10 Pepperdine 13-12 the following day where Shipman dished out an assist in the winning effort. Shipman did not commit an exclusion over the two games.
The senior leads UCI in assists with 29, good for fifth in the conference, and ranks third on the squad in points (46).
Shipman and the Anteaters trek up to northern California for a critical Big West match up with No. UC Davis in the battle of the undefeated in league action on Nov. 1 at 6 p.m.
