U.S. Collegiate National Team schedule
CARY, N.C. --- UC Irvine baseball's freshman standout
Anthony Martinez has been invited to the 2023 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp this summer at the National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.
"Playing for Team USA has always been a dream of mine since I was a kid, so for the opportunity to go to training camp is amazing. It is amazing to know that you are playing for something way bigger than yourself. You get to represent a whole country which I think is a huge honor. I am so pumped for this opportunity. I have dreamed about this, so for it to be here is a great feeling. I worked so hard and to see it pay off is awesome."
Martinez has enjoying a stellar first year with the Anteaters leading not only the team but the Big West in batting, on-base percentage, hits, and RBIs and sitting near the top of the conference and nation in numerous other categories.
Joining names like Scott Gorgen, Taylor Sparks, Keston Hiura, Andre Pallante, and most recently in 2019 Trenton Denholm, Martinez got the call to join 55 other
premier non-draft eligible college players for a four-game Stars vs. Stripes intrasquad series in North Carolina from June 25-28. USA Baseball will name a final, 26-man Collegiate National Team roster after Training Camp that will represent the United States in friendship series against Chinese Taipei and Japan from June 30-July 12.
All five Training Camp games will be played at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina. The series begins on June 25 at 3 p.m. ET, with four games following over the next four days.
