Anteaters Head To Championship Final Round In Seventh Place

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – UC Irvine remained in seventh place after the second round of the BIg West Championships held at the Spanish Trail Country Club.

The Anteaters improved two shots over the first 18 holes with a score of 307 and are in seventh place heading into the final round with a score of 616 (309-307). Cal Poly leads the tournament field (591) followed by Long Beach State (592).

Freshman Jasmine Chen led the Anteaters Monday with a score of three-over par 75, recording two birdies, one on the front nine and one on the back. She is tied for 16th place with a two-day total of 152 (77-75).

Megan Yang (75-79) and Kiana Briggs (79-75) are tied for 21st place with a score of 154. M. Yang had a team-best three birdies and is tied for fourth among players with five overall. Briggs, who matched Chen for the best round of the day, moved up nine spots after the second round.

Charlotte Ryoo shot consecutive rounds of 78 for a score of 156 and is tied for 29th. She is tied for third in pars with 25 over 36 holes. Coco Yang was inserted into the lineup and carded a score of 82.

The final round begins at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow.
