LA JOLLA, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's golf team is sixth through two rounds of the UC San Diego Invitational at Torrey Pines Golf Course.

On Monday, the Anteaters combined for a 36-hole score of 562 (279-283). At 14-under, UCI is only one stroke behind California Baptist and Utah Tech, who are tied for fourth, and six back of current leader Oklahoma Christian (556).

Freshmen
Rei Harashima and
Jin Nakao paced the 'Eaters in a tie for 18th at 4-under 140. Harashima fired back-to-back 70s with seven birdies on the day. Nakao opened the tournament with the team's best round at 3-under 69 and followed that performance with a 71 (-1). He totaled nine birdies.

Darien Zhao is tied for 27th at 2-under 142 (70-72). Zhao matched Nakao with nine birdies and had an eagle on the 10th hole in the opening round.

Andy Zou (74-70) and sophomore
Johnny Bai (70-74) are also tied for 41st at even-par 144.

CSUN's Eirik Thomassen holds a four-stroke lead in the individual standings at 13-under 131 (68-63).
