IRVINE, Calif. – The Anteaters look to spoil No. 1/1 UCLA's perfect season while earning the inaugural Big West regular season title the following night at Cal State Fullerton.

THIS WEEK'S STORYLINES
>UC Irvine enters the week ranked 6th in the CWPA Weekly Poll, their highest ranking of the season
>UCI is slated ninth in the new Association of College Water Polo Coaches poll
> UC Irvine will record their first winning season in conference play since 2017 when they finished second in the former Golden Coast Conference
>The Anteaters are in position to win their first regular season title since the 2000 season where they tied for first place in the MPSF
>UCI heads up the road to No. 1/1 UCLA for a Friday match-up
>The Bruins are the only undefeated team in the country, holding a 21-0 record
>The two squads last met at the Triton Invitational to open up the season where both schools scored the most goals against each other in program history (21-15)
>UCI's 15 goals scored are the most No. 1/1 UCLA has given up all season
>The Anteaters then head over to Cal State Fullerton on Saturday to close out Big West action
>CSUF has not won a game in league play yet this season and hold a 16-13 overall record
>The Titans are in their first year of action after reestablishing their program
>UCI and CSUF last met in 1986 and have had 25 games played against each other in series history

NOTES
>UC Irvine went 2-0 over the last week of action defeating Westcliff (23-13) and UC Santa Barbara (8-7)
>Reigning Big West Player of the Week Luka Krstic led all players with four goals on six shots
>The sophomore Krstic also dished out a game high three assists and stole the ball once
>Krstic has notched a hat-trick in three consecutive games
>Jack Stevens also poured in a hat-trick (3-3) with his third goal being the game winner
>Tyler Padua, Jake Liechty, and Johann Thrall rounded out the scoring for the Anteaters, each tallying two goals
>Junior Garrett Selby played the first 16 minutes in the cage where he stopped four shots and added an assist
>Junior Jacob Pyle entered into the net at the half, closing out the game with eight saves
>Liechty and Gage Verdegaal dished out two assists each
>Liechty also led all players with three steals
>Krstic leads the conference in goals scored in Big West games and points with 13 and 18, respectively
>Padua is the league leader in overall field blocks (12)
>Thomas Cass and Stevens are tied for the top spot for steals in a conference game (9)
