SAN DIEGO – UC Irvine women's tennis competed in the round of 128 singles matches in the ITA Southwest Regional on Thursday.
Ten of the 11 competing Anteaters in the tournament saw action on the court today.
Sophomore
Haily Huynh took on USC's Sloane Morra for the second consecutive year. Huynh came away with the win in set one, 6-4, and played three sets.
Graduate student
Jenna Schlatter faced off against Milena Gevorgyan from Cal State Fullerton and earned the first set win, 6-4. Schlatter's match went into three sets, but she needed to retire in the middle of her third set.
Junior
Kayla Meraz also faced a conference foe in Sheena Masuda from Hawai'i. Meraz won the first set handily, 6-2, and fought her way through the second set forcing extra points in a 7-5 decision in favor of Masuda. This match was the Anteater's third three-set match of the day.Â
